Behind the scenes on a maternity photoshoot

So I already mentioned that when I photographed the gorgeous pregnant Irina a few weeks back her husband entertained himself by taking pictures of me photographing his wife. I thought some of them were so hilarious I have to share I need to watch my facial expressions – I just keep pulling faces when I…

Antonina, these are awesome! I love behind the scenes shots! You’ve inspired me to do one of my own – only problem is that I have no one taking any behind the scenes shots haha. ;)

Antonina - June 25, 2010 - 5:39 am

Alex, I’ll do them for you if you want :) Then in exchange you’ll do some (proper ones!) for me too ;)

Kirsty-Abu Dhabi - June 25, 2010 - 6:49 am

The most stunning mamma-to-be!

Tuesday is a blog day! I had such a busy and amazing week, meeting new people, discovering new things, just being happy with what I do and how everything is coming together… But I digress. Today I’m sharing a few more images from a recent maternity photography session I had with my friend and repeat…

What to wear for Autumn photography session - September 15, 2010 - 2:28 am

[...] For your pregnancy photoshoot go for bold and bright! These two outfits will be absolutely ideal for your urban photography session (for nature-loving mums wanting a park or forest backdrop, I still prefer simple jeans and a smart maternity top). [...]

The Photography Parlour G2G and Shootout

On Tuesday I was out in Bristol on The Photography Parlour G2G – a get-together of UK wedding and portrait photographers of all levels of experience with an opportunity to photograph models in vintage dresses. I enjoyed the day immensely (despite a 5am start to get to Bristol on time!). It was great watching other…

Hey!! I was the make-up/hair artist on the shoot. Had such a good day and glad you did too! can’t wait to see more of the photos! xxx

Alexandra - June 17, 2010 - 12:11 am

It’s amazing how something like this can teach you so much about yourself, your style etc… even from just looking at everyone’s photos of the same girls in different scenarios just highlights to me even more that we’re all different, even though we were photographing the same thing. I love your natural and honest style of shooting, and I truly believe that you will be a huge success. Antonina, you’re so quick with the posting! I’m still trying to choose favorites to edit haha :) . It was so great to finally meet you! You are just as wonderful in person as you are online :) . See you again soon I hope!

maz - June 19, 2010 - 2:34 pm

I love how you define your style- I can really identify with that. I love your work btw! x

Did I already mention I had a pretty busy couple of weeks? I didn’t post at all last week, and this week I’m catching up and releasing bits and pieces of images that I loved creating. Here’s a sneak peek (much more to come!) from a maternity photography session with Irina. Her face would be…

Sneak peek into the life of… Mandy, Uwe, Max and Nina

The other week I had a pleasure of photographing the family of the fabulous image guru Mandy Lehto. But I didn’t just photograph her and her family – I spent pretty much the whole day with them, from breakfast and getting ready to the day out at the Horniman Museum. It was an experiment: can…

These are amazing! Wonderful memories!

Alexandra - June 11, 2010 - 1:54 am

Antonina, I’ve been thinking about the importance of documentation lately – of the day to day activities and of everyday life. This perfectly captures it, and I’d like to say that these photos will mean so much more to them in a few years time than the typical and traditional “smile and say cheese” family photos. Beautifully captured!

Тоня, чудесные фотки! Чудесные лица, и так хорошо поймала. Просто великолепно!
Респект!!! :)

Antonina - June 11, 2010 - 7:13 am

I agree Alex – it’s the thing with photographs, isn’t it – the more time passes, the more valuable they become.

Dominique - June 11, 2010 - 1:18 pm

What a fantastic idea, I love it. Great storytelling and some really funny shots too! x

Mandy Lehto - June 12, 2010 - 11:12 am

This was a great experience. And because it was totally undirected, not staged or orchestrated in any way, it really feels like ‘us’. Capturing things as they are, not made up, over-dressed, starchy or posed, is something that escapes our documentation of daily life. This was a truly amazing, easy and authentic experience. Everything felt very natural, and it shows through in the images. I loved it. We can’t wait to work with you again!

Sohang Tang - June 16, 2010 - 3:08 pm

Gorgeous… some precious moments were captured that day. What a great idea. There is a real special quality with the black and white ones.

Tine - June 18, 2010 - 10:30 am

this looks like… ‘a day in the life of…’ i love this!

Christine Livingston - July 15, 2010 - 4:59 am

Wow!! These area amazing photographs! I know Mandy, Uwe and the family well and this just captures them beautifully!
